Independence Day Celebrations

Students of class IV-B presented a special assembly on 12th August to mark the celebration of 64 years of India’s independence. It was held in the library due to heavy rain.

The children showcased a few glimpses of India’s journey to freedom. They made the audience remember the innumerable sacrifices made to achieve our independence in an effort to make everyone realize what immense value it holds for all of us. Children enacted different scenes like – the torture inflicted by the Britishers on Indian farmers, the Jalianwala Bagh massacre, Lala Lajpat Rai’s protest, the hanging of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, and Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi march.

The parents were deeply moved by the performance and the effort put in by all the children and the class teacher, Ms Sangeeta Singh, was appreciated and commended by one and all.
