A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. To keep our body healthy we need to eat healthy. This is what the young students of Class III-B brought out in the special assembly that they presented on 5th August 2010. The idea was very beautifully presented which had the audience(Students) spellbound. They were convinced and took pride in admitting that there moms were right and they pledged,”No to junk food and gorge on green vegetables and fruits”.
29 July’10-Think Before You Buy
On 29 July’10, the students of class IV A of K.R.M, Vikas Puri presented a special assembly titled “Think Before You Buy” – Impact of Advertisements. This enjoyable yet very meaningful presentation successfully depicted how the Advertisements on T.V tend to influence the viewers, especially kids these days, and how they coax the parents to buy every alluring, appealing product seen on T.V. Through a lovely, hilarious and a perfect blend of dance and music, the very confident children explained how we should d always use our common sense before buying any product available in the market in haste. It was indeed a learning experience for students.

Ruby House
On 23rd August’10, Monday Ruby House conducted its House Assembly on the Motto-‘Endeavour To Excel. Students of class 6, 7, 8 and 9 performed an act where they depicted -how a caterpillar with his strong desire and conviction achieves his goal of turning into a beautiful butterfly.
As the weather turned to be a spoil sport the assembly was conducted in the Indian Dance Room instead of the Amphitheatre. Ms. Shalini Bajaj & Ms. Rajalakshmi graced the occasion with their presence.
A group of Class VII students presented a dance and had set the floor on fire with their remarkable performance.
The assembly was concluded with the House Mistress’s address where she spoke on the ways to achieve success and the common mistakes we make in our journey towards success.

Thereafter Ms. Rajalakshmi spoke a few words of encouragement to the students and appreciated them for their performance.

26 August’10
On 26 August’10, the students of Class IV-B of K.R Mangalam World School ,
Vikaspuri addressed a very important issue. They presented a Special Assembly
on the topic, “Reading is essential”. Through a lovely, musical , colourful and an
easy to relate manner, the students presented how our interests have changed
because of the advancement in technology .Through an interactive session with
the audience, the little ones discussed why reading is essential and emphasized
on the importance of developing reading as a habit for a better overall development.
They also listed out ways to develop the interest in reading. It was truly an Assembly of Substance !!

Class VIII - B

CLASS II – A THEME: JANMASHTAMI
The students of class II-A presented a special assembly based on the festival of Janmashtami on 1st September, 2010. It had a complete participation of the class, in which the birth of Lord Krishna was depicted through a play. Introduction was done by the narrators- Trisha and Jamith.
Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav means Birth of Krishna is a great event/festival. It is believed that Prayers, Going to churches , Temples and Gurdwara’s etc , story telling, singing songs and poems and participating in Acts like this inculcates good values and helps Build character of the Child. This assembly, therefore, is a step towards building their character by teaching them that Evil cannot withstand the power of Goodness, even if it is small in size.
One can learn that even a strong Cruel and unkind King Kansa could not stand before Virtuous child Krishna. So, be kind and gentle to be strong.
It also has helped us tell children about our religion and cultural values. In every Society, there are great leaders and Men of ideal. Krishna and Rama are considered to be the ideals of Hindus and they are worshiped in our houses as Symbols of Power and goodness and kindness.
Children also presented a dance prepared by Mamta Madam.

April – May
Four assemblies have been staged in the month of April – May 2010.
1. Earth day

A special assembly was conducted by class VII – C on Earth Day. Inorder to celebrate 40 years of Earth Day, students of class VII – C put up a skit which revolved around the state of our planet Earth and showed the future of Earth if it was not cared for.

2. Child Labour
On the occasion of Labour Day, the student of class VII- B presented a skit on Child Labour. The Nukkad Natak written by Ms. Suman Lata Tyagi in a poetry form showcased children’s employment in factories, dhabas, shops and in homes and then ill treatment by the owners. Through this play, the students tried to create awareness among people about child labour.
3. Courage, Conviction and Commitment

The Emerald House presented their assembly based on their house motto – Courage, Conviction, and Commitment. The students presented a short skit along with a poem and an article. At the end they sung a beautiful song ‘Aashayen’.

4. Mother’s Day
Inorder to salute the mothers, the students of class XII-A presented a short drama on mothers highlighting the importance of mothers.
5. Consumer Awareness
A special assembly on the rights of a consumer was presented by the students of class VII – A, in the form of ‘Nukkad Natak’ in which they highlighted the right to information as well as created awareness among the people as to voice their opinions and fight for their rights.
6. Drug Abuse
In order to observe the International Day on Drug Abuse, students of class XII presented a play in which they showed how teenagers get addicted to drugs and brought out the repercussions of drug addiction. They also talked about rehabilitation and different programmes that are run by the government and NGO’s to help people.

7. Meri Dilli
A spoof, delicately woven by the students of class XII – C about their city and the capital of India – New Delhi. They brought alive the life that a common man leads in this city and the challenges that the city has to meet.

8. Independence Day
To mark the 63rd Independence Day celebrations, students of class X-C presented a short skit on the revolt of 1857 and its contribution to our independence.
9. School for Good or Goons
A special assembly by the students of class XII-A was presented in which they show-cased the behavior of students in schools today and the problems it creates for them as they venture out on their own and what are the expectations of the society from the young generation.
10. Ruby House Assembly
The Ruby House presented their assembly based on their house motto – Endeavour to Excel. The students presented a short skit along with a poem and a scintillating dance performance ‘Junoon’ to emphasise their belief in always striving hard to excel in life.
11. Global Warming
Students of class VIII- B presented their assembly on the issue of Global Warming. They highlighted the reason for the increase in global warming and also raised a alarm in the minds of the people about the impact it would have on this beautiful planet Earth and what each one of us can do as an individual to save it.
Class II - A ( Janmashtami)
