Education Beyond Classroom

K.R.Mangalam firmly believes that every child is entitled to childhood. While education is the primary function of a school, education at K.R.Mangalam includes all activities that go into personality building.

On the basis of age, each child will be encouraged to indulge in sports and cultural activities of his interest, and class room education will not infringe into a child's right to play, sing, dance and be himself. K.R. Mangalam World School houses a reading room and a world class library, that would set an example for libraries all over. The knowledge centre would have the latest facilities for reading and viewing on multimedia systems, and will boast of source of references on all subjects. A system of class room libraries will also be introduced.

Besides the library with multi-media facilities, state-of-the-art activity centre with skill game, puzzle games, art and craft museums and work- shop, computer facilities for graphics and animation and other related facilities will be provided for children according to various age groups. Creative thinking and innovative skills would be highly encouraged at K.R. Mangalam. Children as K.R.Mangalam believes, develop most of the skills and talent early in their childhood.

Under the Newspaper In Education scheme the school, K.R.Mangalam , Vikaspuri in collaboration with Times of India, supplies newspaper to students of classes IV-X. The students get the newspaper on a daily basis and update their knowledge. The teachers also make use of the newspaper in their teaching. The school also gets an opportunity to highlight their activities in the newspaper. The students send their articles and poems to the newspaper on a regular basis. Notably Avantika Katyal of Class-IX-B article on ‘Say No To Drugs’ was selected and published in the Indian Express.the Principal of the school, also had an article under the section ‘PRINCIPAL’S PEN’ published on 21 August 2010 in the Times Of India.
