Children of class II had a gala time in the party on 13th July 2012; the theme of the party was ‘Monsoon’. Children wore beautiful dresses showcasing the theme. They played various games and were acquainted about various cuisines eaten during monsoon season. They showcased their talent, after which two students from each class were crowned as ‘Mr. Monsoon King’ and ‘Ms. Monsoon Queen’.
On 20th July 2012, students of class II had gone on an excursion to the ‘Doll Museum’. The museum was set up by the renowned political cartoonist, K. Shankar Pillai in 1965. The museum has 6,500 dolls exhibiting culture and attires of almost eighty-five countries. It has one of the largest collections of costume dolls in the world. Children had a great time and an enriching experience as they learnt about various cultures, traditions and attires of the people from all over the world like girl’s festival of Japan, method of draping saree through costume dolls.
A workshop on ‘Party Etiquettes’ was held on 29th July 2012. In that, one of the student portrayed as birthday girl or birthday boy from each class. The workshop instilled good table manners, party etiquettes, skill of gifting and the art of receiving gifts and compliments. The workshop was very interesting and children had a great time during the workshop.
