The students of class IX of K.R.Mangalam World School, Vikaspuri visited Indo-German Urban Mela on 31st October 2012 at Indraprastha “Millenium” Park.
This Mela lies at the heart of the continuing year of celebrations between the two countries “Germany and India 2011-12: Infinite Opportunities”. There were 16 specially designed pavilions inspired by precious gemstones with interactive presentations from our partner companies and institutions, including BASF, BOSCH, Deustche Bank, Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Siemens, to explore how we can improve life within our cities.
Our school students got an opportunity to attend a workshop related to higher education in Germany which started with a video presentation of Germany’s Ambassador, Herr Michael Steiner.
The presentation was given by Ms. Jagriti who is currently working with Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi where she explained why students should choose Germany as the destination for their higher studies. Her presentation included the topics like Introduction of Blue-Card EU, Cost of Living, Foundation Course, Why only German Universities, etc. and which ended with an open session with students.
Students in BASF pavilion came across sustainable energy resources for future whereas in Airbus pavilion, they came across futuristic video presentation of an airplane with a swimming pool, etc.
This educational trip was an enriching experience in itself and moreover, updated their knowledge in the field of science and technology. They were very enthusiastic and learned as well with lots of fun.
