Special Assemblies
LABOUR DAY

A skit was presented to show the rights of the labourers. It also showcased the beginning of trade union and its role in the protection of the rights of the workers.
                 
MOTHERS’ DAY

To thank the creators of the world, who else, our beloved mothers, we celebrated Mothers day on 8th May, 2009. Mothers of our children presented a fascinating programme with their foot tapping dance performances, enactment, singing, fashion show to name a few.

 

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Although Independence Day celebration has been an integral part of the school curriculum, this year we decided to indulge our students in various activities like Tie and Dye, T-Shirt painting etc.  Inter house Patriotic Song and Folk Dance competitions were organized to celebrate the Great day of India.

Teacher’s Day
To mark the occasion the students put up a special programme to make teachers feel special. The children from classes I-XII had presented various dance performances, song, skits and interesting games like tongue twister, just a minute and various others.

 

 

 

WORLD LITERACY DAY

World Literacy day is observed on 8th September. A special assembly was held to celebrate the same. Students of class I took a pledge to spread literacy, followed by a poem by students of class II and an article by the students of class III. Children of classes I-IV donated books to the under privileged section of the society.

 

HINDI DIWAS

The month of September was dedicated to our national language HINDI. The activities planned for the month like spellathon, recitation competition etc. were conducted in Hindi. Hindi Diwas was celebrated on 14th September’09 wherein the children presented a special assembly laying emphasis on the same language.

EID-UL-FITR

 A special assembly was organized by the students of class I-B. It began with a skit followed by a dance item and qawali by the students. The audience enjoyed the sewiyan, the delicacy specially prepared for the occasion.

GURUPURAB

To celebrate the birth anniversary of the founder of the Sikh religion, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the children of class I-F had presented a special assembly. They started by enlightening the audience with the meaning of mool mantra, followed by his life history, teachings and principles.

GRANDPRENTS WEEK

‘Where elders are respected, their Gods are expected’ was the essence of the special assembly presented at the inauguration of the weeklong celebration. The theme ‘Show them we care’ managed to move even the esteemed guests- the grandparents of our little ones. Throughout the week the grandparents of classes KG to IV were invited   and were felicitated by the students. With pleasure on their faces they interacted with children, danced, sang, narrated stories anecdotes and discussed values.

WOMEN’S DAY

Students reflected the status of women in today’s world and they also talked about the rights of women.

GIRL CHILD

This humourous Hindi play brought to light the plight of girls in certain parts of the country where people still long for a boy child and do not have any respect for the girls.

The team got II prize in the interschool quiz. A trophy was presented to each of them.

 

Apart from the above mentioned competitions, all the students of existing and past astronomy clubs attended a safe solar eclipse observation workshop held at  National Science Centre.

Ten selected students were taken to National Science Centre for Solar Eclipse Observation on 29th July, 2009. Students also attended the prize distribution function held at the centre on the same day. K.R.Mangalam students dominated the stage as they had got more number of prizes as compared to any other participating school. Our students grabbed all the first, second and third prize in the junior category.

Taking into consideration the commendable performance of the students, K.R.Mangalam students were allowed an absolutely free tour of the various galleries of the National Science Centre. It was only our school that was granted this privilege.

In April 2009, students of Astronomy club went for an overnight sky observation trip to Jewar ( Uttar Pradesh). They spent the night observing objects like the moon, planets like Mars, Venus ,Saturn and Jupiter. They learnt how to recognize the different constellations  and observe their movements through the night sky. It was a wonderful learning experience as students not only learnt the concepts, first hand, they also learnt how to work in a team and how to benefit from the experience of a group.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

K.R.Mangalam world school  Vikas puri,  organized its investiture ceremony on  13th August 2009. Both Senior and junior students were sworn in at a ceremony. The event was presided over by Mr. Ganju Academic Advisor of K.R.M.  On this solemn occasion the newly elected prefectorial team was honored with house flags and badges. The elected members were invested with their post officially after the  oath- taking ceremony by the school principal.

Co-curricular Activities - Juniors

We began the session 2009-10 with an ‘On the spot art competition’, wherein children were expected to take the full advantage of the opportunity and flaunt their creativity.

To compete with the competitive world and to boost the confidence and creativity of our children various Intra-School competitions had been organized. Some of the competitions being English Recitation (Theme- save the planet earth), Best out of waste (Theme –eco-friendly), Talent Hunt (Theme – Monsoon),Fancy Dress, Poster making, Slogan Writing and Declamation (Theme-India my motherland), Hindi Recitation, Creative Writing and Story Writing (Theme-Compassionate towards animals).

To grace the occasion of Diwali various competitions like Diya decoration, Thali decoration, Rangoli making and Gift wrapping were held.

 To encourage team work and healthy competition amongst the children various Inter- House Competitions like Street Play, Folk Dance and Patriotic Song were organized in the school.

  • Sports Week – Children are full of energy and to channelise their energy, Sport week was organized. Fun races and drills were organized.
  • Exhibition – Flower fiesta, an exhibition based on the flowers was organized. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Upadhyay HOD Elementry education NCERT and attended in full strength by the parents. The nursery students comprehension skills astonished all those who attended Tinnie-Minnie fair and games were also organized during the exhibition. Great décor excellent performance by children was everyone’ delight. Well appreciated by the parents, it was a great success.
