EDUCATION EXCURSION: 03 DEC
On 03 Dec an Educational trip to Red Fort and Qutub Minar, was organized by the school, for the students of Class VI, VII and VIII. Students assembled and boarded school buses for the trip. The buses left the school firstly for Red Fort. During the journey children were kept busy with some witty activities as well as educational knowledge based games about the monument being visited. The students were asked to introduce themselves by adding an adjective to their names. This activity ensured enthusiasm amongst all. The journey looked very short as all students were kept so engrossed in various activities.
On reaching, students were divided into different teams according to the colors like- Red Team, Purple team, Green Team and so on. On entering the red fort students came across a market, where one team was to depict as Shahjahan, rest of the teams were asked to stand on both sides of the road and welcome, as well as request Shahjahan to visit their shops. Children performed joyfully however one could see those who were portraying as Shahjahan feeling very pricy. Thereafter some history of Red Fort was told and was taken into a nearby garden, where another activity was organized. All teams were asked to appoint an Emperor and one of them as Emperor’s son. Teams were asked to come up with three policies from an Emperor’s point of view, design their Empire’s flag and sing a song showing mission of their Emperor. All teams participated with full zeal and enthusiasm and came up with some interesting policies and innovative songs, which were also acclaimed by the teachers accompanying them.
Then children boarded the bus where they were given some refreshments, and headed for their second destination Qutub Minar. They were served with the lunch on reaching Qutub Minar. There another tasks named “Towering Through Time”, was given to them, where they were required to go closer to the monument to obtain answers to the questions given on papers. This activity certainly helped to gain firsthand knowledge of history of Qutub Minar.
Once this act got over, students were all made to sit together. Winners of the activities were announced. There were some very interesting prizes announced also, like “Most Energetic Child”, “Most Talkative Child”, “Most Disciplined Child”, “Most Inquisitive Child” and team winners. Badges and Certificates were distributed amongst winners. This was the culmination of the trip, and we all headed back for the school.
