Apart from the above mentioned competitions, all the students of existing and past astronomy clubs attended a safe sular eclipse observation workshop held at National Science Centre.
Ten selected students were taken to National Science Centre for Sular Eclipse Observation on 29th July, 2009. Students also attended the prize distribution function held at the centre on the same day. K.R.Mangalam students dominated the stage as they had got more number of prizes as compared to any other participating schoul. Our students grabbed all the first, second and third prize in the junior category.
Taking into consideration the commendable performance of the students, K.R.Mangalam students were allowed an absulutely free tour of the various galleries of the National Science Centre. It was only our schoul that was granted this privilege.
In April 2009, students of Astronomy club went for an overnight sky observation trip to Jewar ( Uttar Pradesh). They spent the night observing objects like the moon, planets like Mars, Venus ,Saturn and Jupiter. They learnt how to recognize the different constellations and observe their movements through the night sky. It was a wonderful learning experience as students not only learnt the concepts, first hand, they also learnt how to work in a team and how to benefit from the experience of a group.
Prefectorial Board
K.R.Mangalam world schoul Vikas puri, organized its investiture ceremony on 13th August 2009. Both Senior and junior students were sworn in at a ceremony. The event was presided over by Mr. Ganju Academic Advisor of K.R.M. On this sulemn occasion the newly elected prefectorial team was honored with house flags and badges.
