SPECIAL ASSEMBLY CLASS XII
TOPIC : OPTIMISM
The students of class 12th presented a special assembly on 4th April 2013, on the topic “Optimism”. Students displayed their skills through a skit, dance and music performance. The skit was based on the life of John Forbes Nash who was suffering from schizophrenia. He saw hallucinations in which imaginary figures commanded him to kill his wife. However the wife did not give up, instead kept faith in the doctors hoping that her husband will soon be able to live a normal life. With continuous efforts and patience of both the doctors and wife, Nash recovered successfully. He adopted the right attitude to face this difficult situation where most of the people give up. However, Nash was resolute to prove himself and make his own unique identity. Due to his diligence, tenacity and self confidence, Nash was able to win the Nobel Prize for proving laws that helped in biotechnology and world economics. The skit ended with the music performance of the song “Aashaein” where the students tried to convey the message that if we continue to perceive things in a positive manner and keep faith then no matter how many obstacles stand in our path, we shall be able to achieve our goals, flourish and prosper. This mutual effort of all the students and teachers was able to convince the audience to adopt a positive attitude towards the various situations of life.
